Ginger Detox Bath
This Ginger Detox bath is a great way to soothe aches and pains, open up congestion, and will just make you feel renewed when you’re running on low. It’s like a trip to the sauna, only you don’t have to leave your own comfy bathroom!
Fill your bathtub with hot water (as hot as you can tolerate it). Once it fills about halfway, sprinkle in the Ginger Detox Bath (about 1/2 cup or more) and give it a few big stirs with your hand to help it all dissolve. Then when it’s full, get in and submerge yourself to your neck. Soak for at least 20 minutes, but you can stay in as long as 40 minutes.
Once you’re out, dry yourself off and rest for about 20 to 30 minutes before showering. This bath will cause you to sweat excessively, it may make you feel dehydrated, so make sure and drink plenty of water (like if you had paid a visit to a sauna). Even after you get out of the bath, you’ll probably continue to sweat for a bit, so wear light clothing or even lounge around in your towel. And be sure to drink your water!
If you’ve never done a ginger detox bath before, 15 minutes is fine!! Don’t feel bad if you can’t stay totally submerged for the entire time, it may be too intense for a ginger bath newbie. You can build to three times a week from there if you want to do so. This is not a daily bathing routine, once or twice a week is good… but in the beginning once a week is perfect.
Also – check with your doctor before starting a Ginger Detox regimen – especially if you’re pregnant or have any heart or liver illness.
